Bachmann, anti-gay senator, tries to distance herself from Rev Phelps
Too little, too late. She led an anti-gay rally at the capital last year that emboldened all the hate mongers: http://pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/evausucceed/album?.dir=/5f04&.src=ph

St. Paul, Minn.-February 27, 2006-Senator Michele Bachmann expressed disgust about protesters at the funeral of Andrew Kemple last week.

"I send my most profound sympathies to the Kemple family," said Bachmann.

"It's so shameful what the funeral protestors are doing," said Bachmann. "I feel so much for the Kemple's for making the ultimate sacrifice and also for having to put up with that horrible display at their son's funeral, as well as the aftermath of media attention." "It is also shameful that the Democrats have politicized this already sad and shameful event by attacking me for encouraging this sort of behavior," said Bachmann. "Nothing could be further from the truth."

"I proposed the constitutional amendment to define marriage, not to encourage this sort of culture of hate, but to protect families and make sure children grow up in a proper environment," said Bachmann. "Despite what the media have said, I haven't proposed to ban same-sex marriage, I've simply proposed that we put it to the vote of the people-the people who should rightfully determine the laws of America and Minnesota."

Michele Bachmann is a state senator from Stillwater (SD - 526). She is running for U.S. Congress in the Sixth Congressional District. For more information, please visit www.michelebachmann.com.

1. I am getting dizzy by her spinning
Who is she trying to fool. There are pics going around that shows just how much hate this movement feeds off of.

3. Call Senators Johnson and Betzold to support them
Sen. Majority Leader Dean Johnson has been a voice of reason in this whole debate versus Bachmann's shrill bigotry. We can thank him for not allowing Bachmann and her vocal minority subvert the process with this awful legislation. But the hate-mongers have taken their homophobic campaign to Johnson's hometown of Willmar, placed his picture on wanted posters, harrassed his staff and done everything they can to vilify him.

We should all take the time to call Johnson's office with words of support. His Senate office is 651.296.3826, or sen.dean.johnson@senate.mn.

Sen. Don Betzold is chair of the Senate Judiciary Committee, where the bill will be heard first. He also should be encouraged to help kill this in committee. Betzold's Senate office number is 651.296.2556 or sen.don.betzold@senate.mn

We can be vocal too!

7. Excellent point.
The right-wingers are going to be pushing hard on their anti-gay legislation and we'll need to push back even harder. The Repugs don't have anything else to run on so they'll be trying to use this to rile up their base. We need to do everything we can to shoot it down. Killing it in committee would be great!

Once again, thanks for the contact info. I'll put it to good use.

6. Here's a picture of one of her supporters
not encouraging this sort of culture of hate.

Obviously, advocating the death penalty for homosexuals helps to "protect families and make sure children grow up in a proper environment." I don't understand why you guys can't see that. :sarcasm:

Good gawd, how did this woman ever wind up in the state senate anyway? Want to ban something Michele? How about a ban that prohibits hate-mongering nutjobs like yourself from being allowed to run for public office?

9. Is that a word?
Well, I guess growing up in a straight household is more important than growing up with people who will teach you how to spell correctly. (see the word "prescibed" in the above "we hate you" sign) He and the "MORANS!" guy must be related.

8. Look who endorse Bachmann ...
Former U.S. Senator Rod Grams officially endorsed Michele Bachmann in the Sixth District Congressional Race Wednesday. His announcement comes during the beginning of convention season when Michele is leading the race for the Republican endorsement.

'Nuff said. Impeach them both.
