Pioneer Press published my LTTE on Bush and the UAE
The president boldly proclaimed that he would use his first presidential veto ever to thwart Congress' attempt to stop the transfer of control of our ports to a partially state-owned company based in a country with ties to terrorism. Furthermore, two of the Sept. 11 hijackers hailed from this country.

The very next day, the president admitted that he hadn't been aware of the deal before approving it. Once again, the Bush administration flip-flops between belligerence and ignorance.

3. Good Job, Dan.
I seldom read or write LTTE to the PioneerPress. It is easier to Preach to the Choir, and read opinions with which I agree.
I was delighted to see your letter, and was surprised at the # of letters critical of Bush*.

Love this line from another contributor.
"Bush only plays the "terrorist" card when it's to his advantage, when he wants to keep us believing in his ridiculous and unwinnable war in Iraq, or when he wants to listen in on our phone calls. When it comes to putting more money in the pockets of his already excessively rich cronies,"

When this stuff appears regularly in Conservative rags, REAL change becomes possible.

4. Bush says we can't trust the Canadians. So how can we trust the UAE?
Bush tells us that prescription drugs from Canadian pharmacies are unsafe.

But then he tells us that there is no security problem with having the UAE manage our ports.

Is this flip-flopping, or is there something logical about this?

5. Canada has "socialized" medicine
and allows Gay marriage - how can we trust a country with such "unamurican" ideas? :sarcasm:

8. You're discriminating against Arabs, doncha know...
But it's fine to discriminate against Blacks, and Gays, and Women. They're all inferior.

:sarcasm:

10. She had her surgery today
She had a cyst on top of her head and had it removed today. She was such a perfect sweetheart. She sat and didn't make a sound when they were taking her blood pressure, and later, after the surgery, she didn't even squeek when they took out her IV and tore off the tape. She is so wonderful.

I'm just glad it's over.

Now I have to keep her from scratching her head.

D'oh!

13. That is SO the truth!
She was sitting there so calm sucking on her nookie on the hospital bed in her tiny little yellow gown (tied in the back, of course), watching all those people who were touching her and taking her blood pressure and everything and she was so contented. Just knowing that she was about to be put under and sliced open made me want to cry. She's such a good girl.
