4. Sure it's the same building...
God love the Letter Carriers Union because they make their space available to Democrats on a regular basis, but if there's been any work done to that building in the past forty years, it's news to me! It's right on the corner next door to a really seedy looking convenience store.

You can reach Patrick at 421-0496 (that's the HCDP Headquarters) if you have any questions.

I drive through Northside frequently.

Oh, yeah, another Cincinnatian here.

Unfortunately, I can't make the Kerry kickoff meeting. I have a prior commitment that evening. :(

5. Ohio's Eastern Shore here...
On Ohio River, south of Steubenville. Very Democratic around here, strong labor, blue collar values.

Kirtland is in a nice area.

I'm traveling to Nelson Ledges, near Garrettsville this weekend to go camping.

44. Anderson Township
Still voted overwhelingly for Bob Bedinghouse over Todd Portune -- even with the squandering of millions of taxpayer dollars on the stadium. I mean Bedinghoouse had a nearly 2-1 margin of victory.

All of which poses the question, "What would a Republican have to do to not win a majority in Anderson Township?"

18. South Dayton/Kettering
Oddly enough, not nearly as many Bush-Cheney bumper stickers as four years ago this time. Haven't seen many Kerry ones, either, but it would appear people here -- even Republicans -- aren't sure yet. I know, it may sound lame -- but here in SW Ohio, not seeing a Bush-Cheney sticker on more than half the vehicles you pass is actually a great sign!

23. Brand new and coming at you from....
up the river from the banks of the Maumee. Perrysburg, Ohio. Where men are men and, uh, sheep are nervous? Perrysburg is in the Toledo metro area where it was announced in the Toledo Blade that John Kerry has accepted an invitation to speak at Bedford Michigan High School's commencement that will be held in Toledo at Savage Hall on the UT campus. They had some heated debate up there in Bedford about the pros and cons of Kerry speaking. They are afraid that it'll be a media circus, etc. It's been approved, though.

Hell, I think I had Capt. Greenjeans speak at my hs grad.

Nice to be with all of you.

Stew

24. Not entirely, but increasingly more so over time.
There are still some Republican pockets, particularly in the third and fourth tier suburbs between Akron and Cleveland, and also still in much of the Canton/Stark County area.

Urbanization, however, seems to benefit the Dems much more than the GOP. And there is a lot of it going on right now, in those areas. NE Ohio has long been known as the most urbanized quadrant in the state.

37. Brecksville - a Republican pocket?
I thought so.... but in the last week I've seen three bumper stickers for Kerry or against Bush in our little town! And none for Bush. That's a big difference from what I saw in 2000.

25. Hello from Akron
Probably the most Democratic town in the state, next to maybe Youngstown, and second to Columbus in stability. We're also very pro-Union, and we've got a LOT of truckers who live here.

Our Downtown isn't looking too shabby these days, either. We've got some cool clubs and restaurants open now, and many more on the way.

Every body of water in Ohio has advisories against eating more than a few fish per month. The Bush administration has "relaxed the EPA rules" about mercury pollution.

Cincinnati's probably the only City I would go back to live in. Although it IS conservative. It's pretty.
