So how many cities in Texas are worried about water

So how many cities in Texas are worried about water
And where they are going to get it?

Here in Lubbock, the City Council is talking about Lubbock has a water shortage but then turn around and talk about selling an untapped water source that they own. Plus now on the news they are talking about reconstituting waste water so that it can be drinkable. My question is why if we have a water shortage, then why are they talking about selling a lakes water to someone else. TO me that means we have enough water to support Lubbock's needs. Hell they get water from the Edwards Aquifier as well. I swear these republicans running this city are twisted in the head.

No matter where I am. I am sick of the Republicans, one of them today said we should just nuke Iraq and get it over with. The stupidity of it all.

In the general election when this area elected Randy Nagahide(SP?) his platform was he would go to Washington and support George Bush. Everytime they ran one of his commercials I would become filled with rage at his blatant complacency. These Republicans have forgot one thing, the founders of this country created a Checks and Balances system the President checks the legislative branch and the Supreme Court checks those two and vice versa. Not that you can tell anymore. THe republicans are running rampant and no one is checking them. I feel it is time to pull out the Declaration of Independence and reead them some lines from it. especially this group.

"That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed, --That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government" Thomas Jefferson.

At this time of year, I should be able to look out at my yard and say "good, it's dead" and stop mowing. But, oh no, I have a healthy new crop of prairie and non-native weeds every morning.

15. LOL That's what we look for too...Dead Coastal!
During summer it looks terrible in our yard, this year I will have to come up with a new strategy. I am thinking of getting a flame weeder.

6. The rain we are getting is great
But we are a long way from getting out from under the drought. If it stops raining tomorrow and does not rain again for two or three months we will be right back in trouble.

9. it is a little town
called Ballinger Texas. They have had rain, but the Ballinger lake and the O.H. Ivie resevior have not picked up the water shed.

10. Northeast of San Angelo
I thought there'd been more rain up toward San Angelo. There's even been a ton of rain along the Rio Grande too. Maybe they'll get some rain with this cold front coming Friday.

But it was a fast mover. Had a tornado near Glen Cove. They have storms moving south and east of them, all of them severe.

14. Yeah I have a friend stationed in Galveston
It looks like there is more coming for Houston. Have you got a flat bottom boat? may have to use it to get to work.

12. Too much water here
I'm getting a little tired of mowing my lawn once a week. Some of my plants are rotting in the ground. I haven't been able to bathe my dogs in 6wks because it doesn't stop raining for more than 2-3 days at a time which is not long enough for the ground to dry. The only good thing is that the temps haven't reached the usual highs for May yet. Thank god because my A/C's out.
