1. That's real interesting about the Tobacco work
I would want to see a little verification, but Morales & Murr get the nose twitching.

2. Dream on. Gammage has more class than Sanchez.
What would that accomplish? Why would he put his neck out like that and get the scorn from every Democrat in Texas?

If Gammage would do that I would eat my keyboard.

4. I hope you're right, but it's good to have a heads up if
you're not. I'm sure Mary will try to find something out and working on finding out through a different route. If we can refute the rumor with facts, that will be the best outcome.

5. Lyn the last I know about any endorsement
Edited on Sun Mar-19-06 11:35 AM by merci_me
is that on primary night, Bob endorsed Bell in the press. He tried to tell him personally, but when Bob called Bell on primary night to offer his congratulations and support, Bell refused to take his call.

Maybe Bell should return the call and get confirmation.

editing to add, that phone call was made promptly and refused even before Bob spoke on television that night.

9. There's a different account of this
that is considerably less nasty than yours, and seems to put the issue to bed:

Bob and Bell did speak on election night.

It was after Bob was on TV and said he would support Bell.

Nothing is wrong here for a typical election night: Gammage calls Bell (Bell returns call), says congrats. Gammage even announces publically that he endorses Bell. Bell says thanks. Bell praises Gammage extensively in his victory speech AND email to all supporters.

There is nothing to "re-live" here. It was a typical and classy set of players on election night between Bell and Gammage. Both knowing that the battle for November began the next day and the party had to unite to win.

Other than rumors by some people, I do not see that Gammage has changed his commitment to the Democratic Party and the the top of the ticket.

I hope that if you have any more vicious innuendo to post about our nominee for Governor, that you'll find some way to restrain yourself from posting it. It's only making YOU look bad at this point.

10. Thanks for clearing that up. Rumors suck.
Rumors really suck. I agree. Bells speech was very supportive of Gammage.

Just a side note. There was one very young supporter of a primary that was going around starting rumors about endorsements. At an event, the two parties of the rumor confronted the supporter and had a very frank talk with him.

The defense from the supporter was "Well I just heard". And that is exactly how rumors get started "I just heard". Needless to say the young supporter was extremely embarrassed and learn a great lesson.

11. Listen Perry
you're the one who loves to post "rumors" and then sit back play the critic (excuse me, make that blogger). I was responding to Lyn that, and pay attention here, "the LAST I knew of any endorsement". I said Bell refused THE call that was made BEFORE Bob went on TV. Now if there were other calls, more TV, fine. BUT, I said the last I knew.

If it wasn't the entire scene, I said I was posting only what I knew and it's a fact! I didn't start this RUMOR post, you did. Maybe you should get facts before you start, rather than jumping on rumors.

AND don't YOU tell ME what I should think about Chris Bell!!!! I've faced enough about who I thought for years he was. Now, I'm just waiting to vote for him in November and finally be done with it.

BTW, you said you had me on ignore. How did you see this? Maybe you should put me back on ignore if I bother you so much.

6. He better not
He's already endorsed Bell. If he jumps over to Carole 4n3p, he will be the most unwelcome S.O.B. in the state party. I hope these rumors are just that, rumors. He's the one who had the consultant Dean Rindy do an analysis of the 3 way race for the Governor's race in Nov. And he knows we need Carole in the race so that a Democrat wins not so that she wins.

Do the right thing Bob, denounce this rumor now.

7. Gammage would never endorse Carol 4n3p, and Gammage supporters would not
support 4n3p even if (in some Bizarro world) Gammage did endorsed her.

8. This begs the question
Is Bell actively seeking endorsements? Where is his list of endorsements? That list should be a mile long. I don't see it on his website, but I may be missing it.
