Exciting New Tool: Requests for Mail Ballots Made Simple

Help Barbara Radnofsky or your favorite local run-off candidate in the Democratic Primary Run-Off !

Here's a great tool that has been developed to assist in getting vote by mail applications created for seniors, the disabled or people out of their county on election day and during early voting.

If you need an application, click on this link: http://www.goodmail.org/Ballot/

When you finish, and print out the application, it'll have the address and/or fax number of the correct Mail Ballot Clerk for your county. SIGN THE APPLICATION and mail or fax it.

Deadline for the application to reach the clerk is April 4th. Don't delay!

Know someone off at college? In the hospital? Out of town this month? Have a friend living in a senior care faciltiy? Have neighbors who need an application?

Send them this link so they can get an application. http://www.goodmail.org/Ballot/

Or do them a service by printing it out for them. They’ll just need to sign it and mail it.

ABOUT THE TOOL
Check it out by looking up your name and printing out an example application!

This tool has been developed by Hunter Ellinger of Austin. He has donated it to a few campaigns in the last year. If a person needs to vote by mail, they just search for their name and zip code as it appears on their voter registration card. The program then fills out all the required information on the application, including the reason for their request (age 65, disability, absence from county, etc.)

It keeps the person from marking the incorrect reasons. If you're under 65 years of age, you don't have the option of selecting that reason. If you're going to be out of the county, and you incorrectly put an address inside the county to which the ballot is to be mailed, then the program will ask you for an out of county address.

When you print out the application, it has the correct fax and address to mail it listed on the bottom.

If you’ve ever tried to even find the application online, or have seen how easy it is for a person to enter wrong information, then you know how valuable this tool will be in our General Election campaigns. It’s also been next to impossible for a person to figure out exactly what office to mail an application or request in the past. This does it all in one operation.

Thanks to Hunter! This is just one example of exactly the kinds of tools we must develop to help turn Texas blue!

1. This tool is only for Travis voters right now
But imagine taking this statewide? I checked it out with my voter registration and it was pretty easy to use. I had to help my niece do this one year because she was going to be out of state when the general election was scheduled. It really wasn't easy requesting the forms and walking her through the whole process. Wish this had been available in 2004.
