How to get on a committee at state convention?

Does anyone know if you have to have served on a committee at your district convention to serve at the state convention? I had intended to offer help at my district convention and was told to just show up and volunteer. But as my name wasn't on the precinct delegate list, I had to sort that out with the Credentials Committee to even be a qualified delegate! By that time I figured all the committees were in place, so I didn't pursue it.

1. Depends on the committee

If you're hoping to serve on Rules, Nominations, Platform or Resolutions, you run for election at your SD caucus. No past experience on a committee necessary but it's hard to be effective on the committees without at least a basic knowledge of Robert's Rules of Order.

If you're hoping to serve on Credentials, tell your SDEC person. It's much, much work and they'd probably be glad to get fresh meat;-)

I haven't decided if I'm going to try for a committee at all. I was on Platform and Resolutions and :boring: .... but I suppose it's a worthy job.
