Wow! I finally heard from Charlie Urbina-Jones
Via email:

My Fellow Democrats:

The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and over again expecting to get a different result. In the past 12 years, our party has lost every statewide office, control of our legislature and seats in our congressional delegation by doing the same thing repeatedly. It is time we be honest with ourselves and realize that a change in the way we run the show is needed.

This run for TDP Chair is not about me or my three fellow candidates, who I have enjoyed getting to know on the campaign trail. It is about an agenda, it is about moving into the future, taking back seats, winning elections and it is about restoring the Party to the People.

For too long our Party has been run by a gilded aristocracy that has become disconnected with our base. For too long our party has forgotten to ensure the County Chairs have adequate support & resources. For too long we have been going to the same financial resources that are no longer as solvent as they used to be. For too long Democrats have attacked fellow Democrats and this needs to stop.

It is time the Party began having open discussions about the issues that affect our everyday lives. Whether it is immigration, healthcare or water rights the party needs to take a stand on the issues and vocalize our platform. We need to stop fighting amongst ourselves and stand together against the Republicans who are destroying our country and state. With the Republicans at their weakest, we need to attack and be unafraid to put them on their backs and say this is what we stand for. It is time we take action now!

If what you’re looking for is a Chair who will truly unify the party, who will truly be inclusive, who can bring rural and urban Texas together and is unafraid to stand against anything the Republicans will throw at us then I’m your Chair.

In the spirit of Justice, Equality & Freedom,

WOW. :applause:

Although I must say, I applaud the sentiment but I think he's kinda short on specifics there.

1. Just got an automated phone call from him too
which I didn't have the time to listen to. I hate the telephone unless it's absolutely necessary.
