Woo Hoo, the Ft. Worth Convention Ctr. is wired!
Just called the convention ctr. to confirm whether or not they had WI-FI.

I was told that they are wired. Let the blogging begin.:applause:

1. I'm new to this whole "WiFi" concept
I don't even know if my new laptop has an antenna built-in, but if I buy one of those Netgear 802.11b/g PCI cards and plug it in, am I good to go with WiFi? Or do I need to go through my existing ISP? Please help an ignoramus out.

2. I don't have an answer to your question
What brand of laptop do you have?

Perhaps I can ask my equal, he knows quite a bit about computers.

Mine is built in, so all I have to do is adjust the location to automatic and wa-la, instant access.

3. You should be good to go Derby
Find me if you need help getting it going. Most likely I'll be at the PPC or DVO booth.

4. Isn't it a wireless PCMCIA card you need?
If so, we have an extra one at home. I can bring it, and probably let you have it!!

But if your laptop is relatively new, it probably has wireless built in.

8. The Internets want to be free
Except of course that the resident evil in the White House, is intent on selling it to the highest bidder, by not supporting Net Neutrality. But that's another story.

WiFi is short for wireless fidelity, but the bush king thinks it has to do with gay marriage so he doesn't support it. He thinks all fidelity should be straight wired.

11. Watch out for those zigabites
They can literally shock you if you don't install them correctly. Make sure that your male and female connector wire pairs don't touch. You could melt your memory branch.

7. Off topic, but useful
I plug this site periodically because they have served me well through 44 states and 5 provinces in Canada. I have no other interest in this business.

It is a list of free wifi hot spots all over the world. To me it is priceless! And it is FREE!
