There was an election yesterday???
I seem to miss alot of these because I am not even aware of them.

Is there a website that lists upcoming elections and issues/candidates on the ballot? If not, maybe its time to set up something here.

3. Nor do I, but I do glance at their website from time to time
I think the election was also mentioned in the Austin Chronicle, on all the TV stations, and on the blogs that cover Austin politics. And I swear I noticed a few yardsigns here and there.

5. Well, now I'm beginning understand how I missed it.
I don't own a TV ( personally think that anyone that does, is guilty of media collusion. :D (just kidding) (( well, maybe not entirely)) ) )

Street signs? Well, seeing them 365 days a year, I pretty much tuned them out.

I do pick up the Chronicle from time to time, but it is not as convenient to get where I live now.

I'll be your notice for the runoff election. Runoff is Saturday, June 13th.

You should check in with Burnt Orange Report weekly to keep up with local politics too.

Lee Leffingwell and Brewster McCracken are going into the runoff for Mayor of Austin. Lee got about 47% of the vote and Brewster got about 27%. Carole Six Names got 21% and forced the runoff. She's your basic spoiler. Can't win but she gets into it just to spoil the party.

Brewster should save the city some money and concede but he won't. Lee is going to trounce him in the runoff. If Brewster thinks the repubs are going to come out and vote for a Democrat in a runoff he is more than delusional than we thought.

Anyhow, the rest of us voted for you this past election. And we elected these people to the Austin City Council:
Chris Riley - Place 1
Mike Martinez - Place 2
Bill Spelman - Place 5
Sheryl Cole - Place 6

:hi:

7. Cancel that runoff on June 13th
You are now free to go about your life until the November elections.

Brewster did the right thing and conceded.

:woohoo:
