1. I'll toast to that
I'm not so sure she thinks her career is over though.

I christen her Carole "spoiler" Strayhorn.

3. Wouldn't call her a spoiler persee
Unless you think all she did was dilute a very poor turnout with a group of old-school Republicans to a point that Lee would have gotten over 50% had her supporters not shown up. None of the people who voted for her are likely to go back to the polls for either Leffingwell or McCracken.

7. I do think Lee would have gotten over 50%
Had Carole Six names not been in the race. Not all the people that voted for her are crazy repubs. There are people in our own pct who are moderates or independents who voted for her. I think some of them will back Lee now.

5. Oh, okay
Meanwhile in San Antonio, Julian Castro won in a 4-or 5-way race, no run-off.

6. Yes the Casto brothers are winners
This was his second try so he was more well known and he ran a better race.

Congratulations to him!

10. I won't be joining for this toast...
Edited on Mon May-11-09 09:07 PM by Ranting_Wacko
... because I want to see that One Tough Grandma get it into her head to try and give Gov. Goodhair and/or Bay Kailey a sound-drubbing in the race for governor.

Can I get a toast for a two-way split of the Republican vote? :)
