In what is being seen as a direct - if not outright oppositional/defiant - response, Rick Perry has decided not to grant any turkey pardons in Texas this Thanksgiving.
The Texas turkey forensic commission was to meet tonight (Wednesday 11-25-09) to explore evidence that some turkeys in Texas, although already smoked, may have been freed if not for false forensic evidence presented several years ago.
It should be noted that the turkeys in question maintained their innocence up until the time of execution. Family members still claim they were wrongly executed.
Perry had this to say, "Please don't kill me". He then removed several members of the Texas turkey forensic commission, effectively stopping any hearing until well after Thanksgiving.
Political opponents state that this move is political cannibalism.
