Need an anti-war speaker for Houston club.
Can anyone give me a suggestion for an anti-war speaker? Maybe someone in the military?

1. How about the Bolanos brothers?
They ROCK. They are very good speakers. And if they couldn't do it I bet they'd know someone who could. Although the only time I heard them speak was pro-Kerry, not anti-war per se, so I'm not 100% sure of their stance?

At the State Dem Convention the Clark Caucus was addressed by a Captain Harris, who was back from a tour in Iraq, with lots of stories. There was, though, a strong possibility he was going to be re-called for another tour.

Capt. Harris's wife was one of the Iraq spouses who traveled around the country in October to speak for Kerry. Can't recall, were they the "Band of Sisters" maybe?

Capt. Harris was traveling and speaking for a congressional candidate over in, I think, the Dallas area, by the name of, stuck again, someone help out here, Morris Meyer???

Do you know Jim Cummins, an SD member in the Heights? He's also with the Texas Dem Vets and can probably direct you, either to Capt. Harris or someone else.

I know several people said Capt. Harris should run for office himself and he indicated, once he was out of uniform that was a very strong possibility.

On edit: Here ya go. http://www.sistersspeakout.com/about.html
His name is David Harris from Arlington, TX and his wife is Michelle Harris in this link. Maybe someone else here can track this down further. I imagine one of the Clarkies in that area would know how to reach the Harris's

5. Contact Military Families Speak Out..there are MFSO families in
Texas who might be willing to speak. Military Families Speak Out (MFSO) are military families who are opposed to the war in Iraq, have been from the beginning and have first hand knowledge since they have loved ones in the military, in Iraq.

MFSO at http://www.mfso.org/ . Just send your request to them at website, it will go out to the MFSO families in Texas. How do I know? I am a member MFSO family in Washington state and get requests from MFSO when there is request for Washington MFSO families.
