Ryan McCormick is coming to Lampasas to speak for the Kerry

campaign on May 11. Anyone know him? Anyone have some good questions to prime him with? I don't want to ask so much about policies but about good ideas to get people who think they are throwing away their vote because of the EC motivated. Our County Chair says that Kerry is wasting time and money campaigning in Texas. I almost blew my stack. We are still paying the price for having no real national presence here from 2000. 2. He's one of the Austin4Kerry folks

While I don't expect the national campaign to devote a huge amount of resources to our state, I totally reject the notion that any effort is wasted. Out of the grassroots people who are fed up with the Rethugs now will come the leadership for our party as we take the state back over the next decade.

Lampasas is located about 80 miles north of Austin. Just head north on 183 and you'll be there in about 75 minutes, subject to the traffic and your starting location.

6. Check out the website

of Austin For Kerry. One of the things we talked about at the last meetup (4th Thursday of every month---next one is May 27) was doing outreach to Democrats outside of our liberal bastion. There is also a Yahoo Group.

By the way, let me make it clear that I am not a leader or spokesperson of Austin For Kerry, just another volunteer.
