And then there were two. In the February 19 Wisconsin Primary who will you vote for?

1. I'm so disapointed I'm considering leaving the party
I just can't get rev'ed up over either of the last candidates standing. I'm hoping that this feeling passes but right now I'm so disgusted with this country I don't know what to do.

Edwards was the last hope we had that justice would be done about the crimes the Bush administration as been committing willy-nilly.

14. You know
Barney Frank once said "the only candidate I have ever voted for that I agreed with 100% was myself."

I understand where you are coming from, but I think saying that, because your ideal candi ate could not get enough popular support to carry on, that you are going to leave the party is a little extreme.

I mean even if Hillary Clinton gets the nomination don't you think we would have a better chance of influencing her to be more progressive than someone like McCain or Romney.

I know it sucks but I think it is fundamentally imperative that we get a Dem in the White house, we can't afford 4 more years of republican control.

it would be nice if everyone could vote their conscience but that is not a luxury we have in 2008

fix the country first then fix the broken system

16. If for no other reason, we have to hold the Supreme Court
It's hanging by a thread and several seats will open up in the next four years.

And welcome to DU! :hi:

2. I for one welcome Overlord McCain
Seriously, this is depressing in the extreme, and it's only January.

3. I am disgusted that some states get to choose among 8 and
we get to choose between 2 after the corporate media and the money game have stripped away the senators who truly have the most years of experience, the candidates with the most radical ideas and care for the common person, and the governors, leaving us with... the best fundraisers.

And there are several people, including our own Senator Feingold, who would make a better president than any of the candidates who ran.

4. Was Edwards....now Obama.
I am afraid our best chance to win the WH just left the race.

5. Obama, with sorrow over losing Edwards
I have reservations about Obama, but more reservations about Clinton, and I think overall he is bringing in lots of new young voters, whom we desperately need. They'll help get us to an overwhelming majority that the Republicans can't steal.

6. my gut tells me Obama is the lesser of 2 evils
I'm sick of voting for the lesser of 2 evils. I'd really like, just once, to see my preferred candidate still in the race when we have the WI primary. At this point I really don't give a shit and I'm sure as hell not motivated to go stand in the cold to wait to vote for a candidate I don't really like. I may just go and vote Edwards anyway except that it feels like a waste of time.

9. I'm still voting for Edwards
What is the threshhold for gaining a delegate? 10% of the vote in a CD?

Wisconsin Democrats will send 92 delegates to the national convention this August. Seventy-four delegates go proportionately to the candidates based on primary results in each of the eight congressional districts. But 18 super-delegates aren't bound by the primary vote and can support any candidate they chose.

11. Candidates need 15 percent to get delegates in a CD
Sadly, I'm sure Edwards isn't going to get that now. He might possibly have done so in one or two CDs given good results next week and work here by his supporters, but now... no. I'd love to vote for Edwards, but on the other hand I'd like my vote to count for something because the stakes are the future of our nation.

10. I suspect that turnout will be quite low
and there is no way to know how voting for a candidate who has dropped out will influence the results. I do think there is an enormous amount of support for Edwards in WI, but DU is the left edge of Democratic voters, so its hard not to be biased by that. We could probably pull 15% for Edwards in CD2 pretty easily. I couldn't speak for anywhere else.

12. Obama.
I was uncommitted, leaning Edwards, earlier this week.

(I will also be voting for Jason Haas in the Milwaukee County Board of Supervisors 14th District primary.)

13. Obama
Was a strong Edwards supporter. My thirteen-year-old daughter has been with Obama from the start, and now she's being insufferably smug in the way that was only a thirteen-year-old can be.

oh there is nothing more infuriating than a teenager who is right
my condolences

I have always liked Edwards on the issues, but to hear Obama speak is really something.

17. I will vote-but for which of these two Politburo style Senators, since I am a Kucinich partisan
with anger in my American heart and 44 years of fighting against what these two Senators are fronting for. Big "choice", big "change".
