pretty well everywhere will accept it... but you may get better exchange rates from a bank.

2. Yes, but there are a lot of places where they'll only take as if the value
was the same, so you get screwed. You can go to pretty much any bank and have it changed, though.

4. What's the fee the banks charge to exchange?
With the greenback at 1.10 CDN, bank charges may eat a good chunk of the difference.

3. most tourist places and even gas stations..
will have a small sign by the till stating the exchange they will give.. if not, ask.. but in general, places will take it.. unlike in the states where i have had people not take a canadian penny.. hehe..yet yesterday i got an american one buck coin in my change, guess they thought it was a loonie..
