Canada must be more aggressive on international trade: Emerson
OTTAWA -- Canada has to be aggressive and disciplined if it hopes to compete in a tough global marketplace, International Trade Minister David Emerson said Thursday.

:eyes: (Unless you're talking to Americans, in which case, roll over, take it up the butt, and ask if they'd like some more.)

Emerson told a blue-chip business audience at an International Trade Day conference that the country's prosperity depends on strengthening the Canada-U.S. relationship, fostering a more competitive North America and making new forays into the growing markets of Asia.

Although Canada has been holding its own in trade, it's no time to relax, he said.

"Our government understands that, in today's global economy, complacency is a killer,'' he said.
