Moving Federal Government From Ottawa (Ontario) To Victoria (B.C.)
1. Federal politicians and federal civil servants will be able to walk to work in the winter without risking frostbite. This will reduce greenhouse gas emissions and reduce the time they need to spend at their local fitness club, gymnasium, YMCA/YWCA, etc.

2. The general world audience for Canadian federal political news will get an impression of Canada as a place with kinder, gentler weather than the old Canada had.

3. Many people in Quebec who currently work for the federal government will get a choice of either moving to Victoria, BC or switching careers. As a result, some separatists might question their own current attitudes of entitlement.

What would be some other benefits of such a move? Will two years of notice be enough time or should there be more than two years of notice given before the move is made?

Are there any hazards or disadvantages that we should consider?
