The Euro has been taking up a lot of slack from the Dollar lately. It's becoming the choice of currency for reserves, a position the US Dollar has held for ages.
5. The US dollar collapse will effect many countries' economies...
but those countries (including Canada) have been working on trade agreements with each other rather than the US and putting in place policies that will mitigate the fallout from the crash. It will be interesting to see when China will stop pegging their currency to the US greenback and move to a "basket" of other currencies. It is at that time the free-fall of the US greenback will really begin, imo.
