What Happened I Woke Up And I Was In A Third World Country
My Presidential Vote Didn't Count, People Are Forced To Accept The Actions Of A President Who Dosen't Make Any Mistakes, Lies At Every Turn And Cheated To Win The Election, People Can't Talk About God Or Tell Their Kids About Jesus, People Aren't Allowed To Speak The Truth For Being Afraid They Will Be Harmed Or Worse Killed, The News Media Can't Cover The Real News Of Fraud And Government Corruption For Afraid That There Plug Will Be Pulled.
My God What Has Happened To Our Free Democracy And How Did We Get In This Dictatorship. And How Can We Fix This So We Are A Free Democracy Again.

Sorry If I Offended Any Body I Had To Get This Off My Chest

1. Do what people do in the Third World
resist, protest, take to the streets. That is how people in the third world got the colonial powers out

3. Don't be sorry.
It's true.

I wish I had an answer. If the fraud isn't exposed, it's over for me. I live my life knowing it's not the life so many in America thinks it is. I live knowing I'm not living in a Democracy. I do this so my kids still have a mom.

4. For decades lots of American didn't bother to vote.
And lots don't bother to vote either in off year elections. They think that it's not important to vote in off year elections.
They are wrong.

8. even in this year's election, 40% did not vote!
Was it apathy or what? There was a definite difference in the candidates! So when you add that in, only 31% voted to keep the BFEE in power. Small comfort, because they are still in.

5. Welcome to DU
where a lot of us are wondering the same thing!

Except I don't get what you mean: "People can't talk about God or tell their kids about Jesus." If anything, we've seen religion become more prominent in more places: schools, banks, and especially government.

21. If Christianity is under attack, it isn't from the left
But the far right is very good at using a few unrelated anecdotes to create that impression because the fear and anger folks feel in response makes them easy targets for manipulation.

Instead of the blog posted above, try reading Thom Hartmann's latest article here:

http://www.commondreams.org/views04/1220-20.htm

He explains the tactic in a rather chilling historical context. After reading the article, read the blog again. Does the tactic sound familiar?

Peace.

6. I wish I had an answer
They control the right and the left. Most of the real peace movements that were in the 60s are not about to happen anytime soon. Most of the hippies left the peace movement in the 60s when the lunatics starting getting into control positions of the peace movement so it then became to dangerous to be a hippie.

Perhaps those hippies from the 60s are in retirement age and have some free time on their hands and would want to start another Anti-war movement.

9. I think it's already starting to happen
We did it then and know what to do--and hey, I'm only 52, not in a retirement home yet! Yes, our kids are raised and we do have the time to pay attention and try to fix the mess another member of our generation caused. Now that we are staring at 4 more years, especially.

7. I sympathize with everything EXCEPT
What do you mean about god and jesus? I feel like this country is turning into a theocracy. If you've watched the news recently, religion is all they're talking about.

I'm an atheist and this scares the hell out of me.

12. that's a smoke screen
most of the country is NOT religious and politically right-wing fundamentalist. It's really only 22% of the people. Yes they did get out and vote, but they were/are convinced that they have one of their own in the White House--hahaha. They will find out the truth--that their guy authorized the Abu Gharaib tortures. The real Christians won't abide with that.

If you doubt that so few are Christian, just turn on the tv and see what kind of trash gets all the ratings.

11. Get this...
I just received an email from my local Democratic Party asking me to donate $$ to send one of our local area High School bands to play and march at Bush's inaugural parade! Is that just bizarre or is it just me. I think I'm doomed here...

15. It's for real, I'll copy the email here:
Hello Fellow Democrats:

We hope you are having a wonderful holiday season, spending lots of time with friends and family, and perhaps reaching out to help others in the community at this giving time of year.

While many of us already have favorite causes that we support, we’d like to ask you to consider making one additional donation before Dec. 25th.

As many of you know, the McQueen High School Band has been asked to march in the Inaugural Day Parade in Washington, D.C. in January. They have fallen far short of their fundraising goal and may not be able to go. Will Washoe County Democrats help these hard-working kids make this trip, which for some may be the opportunity of a lifetime?

Many of us are still reeling from the outcome of the election, and the fact that it isn’t our guy being inaugurated. But this isn’t about politics, it’s about these talented kids who work so hard to be good at what they do. You’ll recall that this band was asked to play at a Bush event this fall, but the school district decided it was against policy to perform at a campaign event. The inauguration is a different situation, and we think it would say a lot to the media and to our community about the values of the Washoe County Democratic Party. If you don’t agree, we certainly respect your opinion.

If we can get pledges totaling at least $1,000 by this Thursday, Dec. 23 by 4 pm, I will contact the school district to let them know about the donation from the Washoe County Democratic Party. Our donation will be conditional on the band raising the rest of the funds they need to complete the trip.

Please let me know by e-mail if you are willing to pledge a small donation. I will respond to your e-mail just as soon as the school district decides whether they have enough funds to make the trip. According to the newspaper, they are to decide this Friday.

We will be looking for other opportunities throughout the year to help demonstrate what the Democratic Party is all about. Rest assured, most will not involve additional donations of money on your part, perhaps just a little donation of time. We’d love to hear ideas you may have about community-based projects that you think local Democrats should be involved with. Thanks for your consideration and I look forward to hearing from you.

so they can play for the protest rally in DC?

I mean, honestly, WHAT IN THE HELL ARE THEY THINKING???

This is the kind of crap that makes people call us wishy-washy.

23. I wish I was kidding...
I about shit when I read it today. Then I just started laughing because it seeems so bizarre to me. She wants to make it out to be about the kids, well, yeah, I can see that under normal circumstances, but under our current circumstances, I just can't believe she could ask this. That's what I'm dealing with here, total denial. I have received other emails from people at the local party since the election who wrote to me in response to my inquiries about whether they were following the election fraud news. The response has been lame, and their attitude is that they have just given up. And we all worked our arses off here!! They shy away from things I send them. I'm really very disappointed in the local efforts here. I probably shouldn't do this, but what the hey, here's Pam's e-mail, it would be pretty easy to locate anyway with a little Googling:

pdupre@washoedems.org

Send her your opinions, just please don't tell her I sent you her way. It's a small community, and well, I have to eventually walk back in her office someday.
