8. I am afraid 0 is the correct answer, sadly...
Has there been any indication from anyone that they will stand up for us? I've written to Barbara Boxer, having worked for her, too, when I worked for Kerry, but just as a phone volunteer. Why would she be afraid to do the duty when so many have written her? This California, where nobody should expect anyone to hide out in fear of Bush. I just hope she comes through for us.

13. Conyers is a pied piper.
"However he turned from South to West,
And to Koppelberg Hill his steps addressed,
And after him the children pressed;
Great was the joy in every breast.
"He never can cross that mighty top!
He's forced to let the piping drop,
And we shall see our children stop!"
When, lo, as they reached the mountain's side,
A wondrous portal opened wide,
As if a cavern was suddenly hollowed;
And the Piper advanced and the children followed,
And when all were in to the very last,
The door in the mountain-side shut fast."
--Robert Browning.

23. What work?
I'm sorry, but even if we get a senator to stand up, it won't mean anything. Shrub will still be elected on the twentieth. We should be preparing for the next battle, not engaging in elaborate campaigns for symbolic gestures.

The last, best hope of accomplishing anything of substance died when Kerry quit. Now all that's left is rearranging the deck chairs on the Titanic. Sure, you can make them look nice. You could even change the sheet music for the band. But we both know where this boat is going to end up.

28. A history lesson.
When World War II ended, and the Japanese surrendered, most soldiers gave in. They returned home, cast aside their arms, and did their damndest to rebuild their nation from rubble. They succeeded spectacularly.

There were a few on Peleliu, Guam, and various other now bypassed or conqueored outposts who held out, refusing to believe the stories of surrender for months after the treaty was signed on the deck of the Missouri. After imperial delegates and ex-military officials filled them in on the reality of the situation, they too came in from the cold.

Then you have stragglers on Guam and Vella Lavella, living in shacks and caves for decades after the war, raiding gardens and trash bins. For decades they fought a war long since over, feeling hatreds long since passed. While they fought, both their country and the entire world passed them by.

I have not given up. I have merely moved on and made plans for the next challenge rather than be a guerilla in a dead war.

I don't. Can't get excited about any future elections knowing how corrupt the current system is.

Gotta remove partisan and corporate control out of the process before we have meaningful elections.

31. Not only is it a dead war, it's the wrong war
The battle that needs to be fought is on the state level not though Congress. Elections for Federal positions are state run. Yes, the Feds do have oversight to insure no FEDERAL LAWS are broken. The 15th amendment was not broken during the election

All the issues with this election are state problems. The challenge is to mobilize the governors into action by putting their feet into the fire and holding them there until there is complete accountability

12. None.
Take a big step back, and look at the evidence we have. It consists of statistical anomalies, hearsay, and anecdotal evidence. It wasn't enough to stop the electors, it wasn't enough to get Kerry to contest, and it won't be enough to get a senator to stand up.

besides Obama? no right? that would be the only way. the white ones are all chicken shit and kissing up to the republican party right now. wish they would grow some balls. king chimp has his little man date doesn't matter what our people do if the chimp doesn't want it, it ain't gonna happen.

these guys better realize that. and us, what are we going to do? they (Dem senators) know we have no choice but to vote for them or vote for the evil cons. go figure.

its all a game and we the people need to play it smarter.

White Democratic senators have all been "fixed."

Steers, gonadless, eunichs, all.

Spineless as jellyfish floating adrift in a sea of Republican poo.

When you take all that money, you have to agree to moral castration and to calcium depletion of the backbone.

Of course, who knows, the BFEE has everyone scared sh*tless. I'm sure there is talk of anthrax going around.
And to all the pessimists here: We don't have all the evidence. What if Conyer's group has more goods than has been let out?
Whetber or not this gambit works or not is up to how the dems frame it. We all must agree that the current voting system since w appeared on the scene is a sham and a disgrace for our great country.
Exit polls used to work in the past.

is the perspective each Senator needs to come at this from. There is no middle safe ground because of the amount of anger and the wrath of the base. All in affords protection and a platform to begin the Battle of the 109th Congress.

53. Enough of them will recognize that they face political irrelevancy
if they can't even stand up to the schoolyard bully taking everyone's lunch money.

And another, perhaps smaller group, will know that history will prove the objectors right, and that they shouldn't miss the boat on this one.

Last of all, the ones who simply know what is right. I pray that Byrd sees his way clear to knowing that, statesman and defender of the constitution that he his, standing up is his duty.

54. Depends what's in the info packet
Conyers dumps in the laps of the senators. (Ouch! That thing is heavy!!) But my bet is Conyers has the story nailed, detailed, and wrapped. And on Tuesday, Nov. 4, his report will get out for all to see. So he's got the senators in a tough spot. They can either vote for the fraud with the world watching, or vote for the plain truth. I'd say at least 5-9 will stand with the truth. And I wouldn't be surprised if one or two rebubs were in the group.
