Hillary asked me for money today ...

I've been a fan of Hillary Clinton, but today I returned the form without a check with a short note that said, "I've decided to contribute $50 to Senator Boxer because, unlike Senator Clinton, she showed tremendous courage in defending our democracy by filing an objection to Ohio's electoral votes. Please remove my name from your mailing list."

I hate to say it, but Nader is right: The Democratic leadership has sold out. Personally, I think we should boycott the Dems in the next Congressional race, since we have no power there anyway. At any rate, we have to find a way to send the Democratic Party a very strong message.

... this may be the reason why the Dems are begging McAuliffe to stay on--they know that they've damaged their grassroots money sources pretty badly by dissing MoveOn and similar groups, and he's pretty good at getting the big money.

Still, a small money boycott would hurt them. I don't think they appreciate, in any meaningful way, the many, many small donations that come from the bulk of Demo supporters. The average person who gives a couple hundred to their Rep or Senator is making a much larger sacrifice than a big corporation giving $50K to a PAC, but there's little question about which ass the McAuliffes of the party are going to kiss....
