1. Is Washington DC still
a "no work, drug environment?"

2. I think DC could chip in and that the price tag for --
-- their donation should be two United States Senators.

4. Oh God don't get me started on that
D.C. has more residents than several states and no representation in Congress or the Senate. Ridiculous.

5. taxation without representation
This is ridiculous. They get taxed like the rest of us. No one representing them in Congress. And now, the Chimp wants them to pay part of the expenses for a coronation that happens to be the most expensive inauguration in history. I'd rather see that money going into DC neighborhood improvement programs, or education programs.

The inauguration should be canceled. That idiot is not worth all that security expense.

6. Bush will get exactly what he pays for. Lax security. Here come the eggs.

7. Hmm. If Dc pays then DC should set the rules. We know who DC
wanted for pres, and we know which party DC supports. Maybe DC should hire guards who actually believe in Free Speech and who let peaceful Bush protesters on the parade route.

In other words, rather than just forking over the bucks, could DC say "OK we will supply security. Our DC Police Officers will all be out working unpaid over time during the inauguration, waving your motorcade along."?
