OK, I'm convinced that election fraud is THE most important issue
facing us. After my period of doubting, I'm still not completely convinced the 2004 election was stolen, but if the machines are so hackable, our elections are already compromised.

I understand there is a CD containing important information. I lost the link to this and would like to catch up. Also, I'd like to check in for assignments from time to time.

My health is still not great, but it's better. I'm not sure how much I can do.

2. It looks like there is some good information there.
I scanned through it and didn't see the CD I'm looking for, however. :(

6. Yes, thank you!
After last year's election, I authored a similar CD, but after awhile my very skeptical nature asserted itself and I was unconvinced. Also, my health wasn't good and I was anticipating surgery. I'm glad someone else thought of the idea (or borrowed it from me...hehe).

Now I realize that even if nothing shady went on there's still a problem. Private companies shouldn't own voting machines and software that is so easily hacked. If there's even the slightest question about the veracity of an election, the election has already been compromised. Elections are that important.

Now, I will distribute this CD for starters. I'll also re-educate myself. We have to make this issue NUMBER ONE. I am thinking about writing to my representatives--all of them--at least once a week, calling once a week, bugging Dean once a week, maybe even more.

Have you guys started some kind of campaign like that?

4. Welcome, Ladyhawk
It is so very satisfying to see that good honest folks are beginning to see what we have been struggling with for years now.

The machines are hackable, and our elections compromised

And when weighing the evidence with the knowledge that there are many bad people out there who would think nothing of stealing your vote, you become flooded with an intuition that *, et al, did not really get elected. Not even in 2000.

I feel good!

8. After he was sufficiently recovered, I was planning on having a good,
long chat with Andy. I was waiting in the wings, encouraging him in his recovery. I had heard he was very good at educating folks and I wanted to hear it from his point of view, directly from him. It's a bit too late for that now. :( I am going to have to educate myself. The GAO report was a turning point for me. It didn't necessarily convince me that fraud had happened, only that if it could so easily happen, faith in the system could not be maintained.

I'm nearly convinced fraud did happen, but 100% conviction is not necessary before I take action. I merely have to understand the facts and the facts show that our elections are not secure. Whether or not someone has taken advantage of that, I do not know. But I can have my suspicions. :)

10. welcome back, although you were here first....
I'm one of a couple of people around here that get tagged "naysayers" because I question the evidence that the 2004 election was stolen. In fact, I don't think the 2004 election was stolen, at least not in the sense that votes were literally deleted or switched.

But you are exactly right: if the system is hackable, no one should trust it. Our political system does not thrive on blind trust.

Heck if I know what is the most important issue. Democracy depends on people caring -- we don't have to haggle on what they should care about most. Certainly they should care that the president is accountable to the people, and not vice versa.

Be well.

5. If thousands of votes can be manipulated
(and test show that they can) the election is a cruel hoax played upon the world's finest democracy.

I'm not at all satisfied that the "good guys" are worried enough about this to do something concrete about it.

7. That's why we have to flood them with snail mail, e-mail, etc.
We have to bring this issue to a head. Nothing else matters.
