1. Lots of problems in that area- they should look into some of these

whose voters were unable to vote? and why did it happen?

Illinois's 6th congressional district—
The district contains some of the western suburbs of Chicago in DuPage and Cook counties. Democratic strength in the district has grown in recent years, but the balance still tilts to the Republicans. Duckworth's compelling biography and her campaign's heavy financial backing and free publicity made her chances seem good, and Democrats had high hopes. However, Roskam edged her out by a 51% to 49% margin.

covers the northern suburbs of Chicago, including portions of Lake, McHenry, and Cook counties.

EIRS reports in area

She went to her local polling station where she was told she was not on the list. She is a spanish speaker and did receive assistance from a spanish speaking poll worker. They told her she could not vote because she was not on the list. They did not offer her a provisional ballot

1957 Polling Place Problem Cook Illinois No The polls are open, (at 78th and Peoria), but the poll workers do not know how to operate the equipment, so people are being turned away from the polls. Caller has heard from other individuals that other polls are not open as well.

1746 Polling Place Problem Cook Illinois No Voter has voted, but 1 of 4 machines at polling place is not working. Voter is hearing several reports that the machine spits out ballots and says "defective ballot." Voter believes that votes are not being counted or are being counted multiple times by the defective machine. Also hears reports that people who have registered in the past and voted several times previously are not on the list of voters. The polling place is a "black polling place" and he believes the problem with the machine and the voters not being on the voter list is the result of intimidation.

1690 Polling Place Problem Cook Illinois Crispus Attucks Hall Yes Caller arrived at 6:30 this morning and the equipment wasn't working, but the polling place was open. 3. this state senate district is suburban cook
i think it is completely encompassed by il-6, elmhust and bensenville.
although most of cook county is blue, this part has been solid red.
during the primary, this is an area where i was doing gotv, and they told me they no longer kept a poll sheet, so i couldn't check it. they were told in training, under no circumstance should they give any info to campaign workers.
this is a big area full of those folks that dr dean likes to say- you might not be a republican. joe's showing, even if he doesn't pull it out, is sort of a miracle. folks from the cegelis campaign worked this race. progressives did well in these usually unopposed statehouse seats.

4. What do you mean that "they told me they no longer kept a poll sheet"??
Are you talking about precinct login books? All precincts must keep them.
And they are public information. Anyone can look at them.
Sounds like you ran into some partisan run around?

These days when there has been a lot of manipulation, I think that people should check the
number of people signing in to the poll book in each precinct to the number of official votes on election day.
And also information on absentees and provisionals should be checked.
Where there have been checks, a lot of irregularities have been found.
As noted on other threads.

ps. based on the races, it looks like this area is pretty balanced- red and blue.

5. no doubt is was a runaround.
one precinct, they were kind and helpful as can be. the other 4, forget it.

and as far as the balance in that district, it is shifting, in no small part thanks to christine cegelis. until she got 44% of the vote in '04, dems barely bothered to field a slate. many thugs still go unopposed.
