Voter #1 Genoa Township, Michigan Precinct 3. Voting problems?

Posted January 15th, 2008

First observation...
-Diebold

I was the first voter, I circled in Ron Paul and put my ballot into the machine. Spit it right back out and said INVALID BALLOT.

Second guy gives it a shot. INVALID BALLOT.

I begin argueing with the lady running the precinct about computer voting and people voting. This lady actually says in a room full of people that Computers are better at counting ballots than people, cause people make mistakes. who makes computers?

So to finish it up, she calls the township. she says I can keep my ballot in a secret compartment and they will put it through later once its fixed.

So they call her back. She gets off the phone. She says the manufacturer says there is a problem with a memory card. Someone from the manufacturer will be there with a new memory card soon.

Holy hell, it doesn't help that I just watched a damn documentary about DIEBOLD and MEMORY CARDS.

I immediately left and drive to the township office to voice my complaints. They must still be sleeping.

6. Maybe not. Diebold machines were counting uncommitted votes
as write in votes in 20 counties that night. I called and confirmed the vendor and the number of counties.

12. Where were you in '00, '02, '04, and '06?
It's nuts at this point to believe in voter fraud?

13. A friendly request
Language is so important. I'd like to suggest that you change the term 'voter fraud' to 'election fraud'. This is how the Republicans couched their efforts to change election laws (which in the end disenfranchised qualified voters).... they did this by focusing on 'voter fraud' where the voters are committing the fraud (vs. the fraud being committed by those who count the votes.) They are so slick and tricky.

Anyway. I implore everyone to call it 'election fraud' and not 'voter fraud' because we can't let them get away with that. It changes the discourse in congress. Voter fraud happens, but at an incredibly low low rate. Not even on the map, when you have on the other side companies like Choicepoint making lists of names to strike from voting, saying that they know it is wrong, but (Florida) accepting the list anyway... Then there is putting the malfunctioning equipment in democratic areas. Then there are the caging lists, sending mail to students and military (who are not living at home), to strike from voting lists. Then there are the ID laws in some states that cut out the elderly and poor.

So we can't let them change the Language, or conversation.

Thank you, and Maluhia (Peace)

15. Ah, gotcha. I just got careless, I agree about keeping the language straight.
They will try to confuse the issue by interchanging the two. They got me, and I'm usually on top of it. Unfortunately, it's too late to change the message, but I appreciate your attention to this distinction that needs to be maintained. Keep it up!

5. I am so glad people are catching on to our fraudulent voting system
Since everyone is watching the early primaries, maybe we will have a real election for the general.

16. Yes, specious.
The voter provided no information what-so-ever suggesting someone intended the problem to occur in order to deprive the franchise.

17. Fraud is not the only thing that needs cleaned up
Incompetency, sloppiness, and laziness cost a lot of votes by themselves.
