SAVE 'REAPER'!
Gaaah The CW strikes again, slaughtering one of my favorite shows. (I'm a survivor of what they did to Gilmore Girls, but I'm scarred from the experience.) Reaper is on the bubble--anyone up for sending socks to the CW prez in protest? Mine's going in the mail shortly!

Reaper: The Devil Made Me Love It—Now Please Help Me Save It!

Tonight is the night. The last night you have to get everyone you know (especially anyone with a Nielsen box atop their TV set!) to watch one of the best new shows of the season: the CW’s Reaper.

If you saw this series earlier in the season and decided it wasn’t for you, it’s time to give it a second shot, because this dramedy about the Devil’s bounty hunter (Bret Harrison), has truly hit its stride in recent episodes. It’s wickedly funny, sincere and even sweet, and it has been serving up some of the best twists anywhere on TV.

So why is tonight your last chance? Because after tonight’s airing at 9 p.m., the suits at the CW will make their decision on whether Reaper will return for a second season, and they'll announce that decision at the New York Upfronts next week.

If you’re a fan, you know what a true tragedy it would be to lose this series. So not only should you watch (and get others to watch!), but you can also take part in the Send Socks to Save Reaper Campaign, by mailing any old sock (in honor of the show’s comic relief Bert “Sock” Wysocki) to:

1. I should have checked here first
but here's some potentially great news...

While Reaper's ratings are very low, it has two positive things going for it – With Smallville almost certainly ending after next season, Reaper is positioned as a good possibility to be paired with Supernatural on Thursday nights, if the show's audience can be expanded. Secondly, Reapers ratings increase a higher percentage than almost any other series when DVR use is factored in. On top of that, the Reporter says the CW's executives have a soft spot for the series.

2. Hee hee GMTA
We posted within minutes of each other! I do hope that article is right--I would hate for this show to be cancelled. I love, love, love it--I watched the first ep on a whim and have been a huge fan ever since.

3. I downloaded the pilot long before it aired
it had a different actress for Andi. I am a HUGE fan of Ray Wise as the devil, and I love Sock also (Sock and the DMVdemon? Priceless). I just hope that the CW does a better job promoting the show for season 2.

4. I love Ray Wise! He is absolutely great in everything
he has done! He is right up there with Alan Rickman as a character actor, in my book...

5. "Place the vessel on the mat..."
Gladys ROCKS! And yeah, that "dream" sequence with Sock was one of the funniest moments from ANY show this season. I loved the twist at the end, too.

Ray Wise has to be the best devil I've ever seen; he's--dare I say it?--"believable" in a way--not a stereotype. Slick, slimy, not altogether unlikable, but entirely untrustworthy.

And the gay demons were a great addition too!
