4. MLK Day selection seems limited:
No "Eyes on the Prize (Gospel Plow)" or "O Freedom," for example

5. yeah -- they're asking the public for help
on copyrighted material.

they'd like to add more -- but --

anyway -- i've booked marked them -- hopefully they won't become inundated with praise hymns.

thank you very much.

8. That explains why Tindley's "’I'll overcome some day" is on the site, but "We shall overcome" is not
I hadn't realized Highlander held the copyright

6. That was our processional hymn this morning
It was played at that tempo, but I prefer it a little slower, so it sounds like the 1920s number that it is.

We also sang this one, although to a different tune:

9. The other tune is in the Episcopal hymnal, but I forget which number
It's a great option for MLK Day.

11. LEVUS, or LIft Every Voice and Sing, is also a supplemental hymnal
in the Episcopal Church.

I've sung this song so many times I have the base part memorized.

It is also known as the Black National Anthem.

It actually reminds me, in it's harmonies, of barbershop singing, as it comes from roughly the same era, written in 1900. It should be played as slowly and theatrically as possible.
