"Relationships don't need an owner's manual, just the Bible"
This is what I saw on a Seventh-day Adventist church sign.

1. And then you get sealed, die, and become a star.

2. Yeah, so you know how to beat your wives, kids and how to sell them into slavery
Paterfamilias had a friend in the Bible...

10. Yes, exactly.
I hope that one day the male-dominated monotheistic power-trip religions will be crushed into the dirt, just as they crushed the female-oriented religions.

3. Do what King David did! Absalom! Tamar! Abigail!
Oh, who says that has never sat down and read it.

4. Actually, When Read Correctly, Here's What The Sign REALLY Says
"Relationships don't need an owner's manual. Only the Bible needs an owner's manual."

So, in a way, it's correct.

That's what the sign ACTUALLY says when we make the assumption that the person who made the sign was using proper English (I know, huge assumption, and we all know what happens when we make an assumption--you make an ass of U and Umption).

Oh, by the way, I'd hate to see what would happen if anyone actually DID use the Bible as their owner's manual for their relationship. Women would be subservient to men, and regularly beaten. Daughters would be sold into slavery. Children would be ritualistically killed/sacrificed. Yeah, great owner's manual.

5. I saw a very positive church sign this morning. It said:
"Protect planet Earth, it's the only planet that has chocolate". I thought it was cute.

6. I like churches with a sense of humor.
But, I wanna know how the pastor/priest/whatever knows that to be a fact. I mean, yeah, I'm all for protecting the chocolate producing planets, but I'm not sure earthlings can claim to be the only creators.

I'd like verification.

8. Good point. I would die without chocolate.
It's also the only planet we could reach that has enough oxygen and water to sustain our form of life, another point to remember.

9. There are people of this World who have never heard of (or are barely aware)...
of the Bible and yet they have fabulous relationships.

12. Well, true: the Bible does need an owner's manual.
Otherwise, owners may be tempted to take it literally.
