1. Checked the link.
Home page was pretty straightforward, but it didn't outline any "lies". Is there something I missed?

I missed those essay links myself for a bit, since they look like ordinary text.

4. Me too.
I was expecting the text with the red background to be "the lies" - took me a while to figure it out.
The design could be improved. ;)

8. I instantly distrust anyone who thinks they know the
whole truth and try to convince me of their version of it.

9. Be Careful
I don't disagree with the author of the web page on philosophical issues, but he ought to check his own facts too.

He said "The phrase, "separation of church and state" is not in the Constitution: This is true - and irrelevant. The principle is there and the liars know it. The phrase, "freedom of speech" isn't in the Constitution either."

If he had read the First Amendment he would know better.

12. eh...not bad for xtian bashing website.
Edited on Mon Jun-19-06 08:25 PM by PabloLego
I take the position that most of those are not "lies" but debateable positions...all except the "only Christians can be moral." Morality is not a social construct and without an ultimate referent, it's not morality, just situation ethics. Morality is absolutely tied to theism. NOT saying atheists/others can't be good/nice/happy campers, it's just that morality is by definition NOT a maleable social construct.

Also his understanding of the 1st Amendment and religion comes off as vastly uninformed on the Constitution. Not many refences backing up his assertions at all either. Not bad arguments, a bit on the shallow side however and not well carried off.

by the way www.strongatheism.net is a MUCH better site (and linked from the other)! I'd go there and forget this one. Some good stuff on that site!
