1. Be interesting to see how this pans out
Remember the draft where people were debating who was the better QB- Peyton Manning or Ryan Leaf? :) And of course Tom Brady was almost the last picked...

2. Who saw that coming? Jebus, of course...
...I think Focus on the Family, based in nearby Colordao Springs, lobbied for their Messiah to be near them.

Word is that Clausen was acting like a primadonna at the NFL camps.

3. Stupid thing for coach to bet his career on....
At least people actually *thought* Ricky Williams was gonna be good.

5. I can't describe how much I dislike Tebow.
I'm sure he's an earnest kid, and he's definitely an amazing athlete, but he's basically using sports as a missionary tool. For crying out loud, does everything in America need to get politicized? For better or worse, he's not only taking a moral and religious stand, but he's quite consciously taking a far right political stand as well. I like to think of sports as something people from any side of the political spectrum can crack a beer over and have a good time getting away from the suckiness of partisan politics. But this kid makes it impossible.

Good thing he doesn't have NFL QB skills. I can only hope that he flames out quickly and takes his soapbox to some deservedly small crowd.

Clausen is a punk but has NFL skills. He'll probably be closer to Ryan Leaf than Peyton Manning. Bradford will flop. Shame, cause he seems like a good kid. But he's fragile and he'll get pounded behind a subpar OL. McCoy will be a career backup. Someone like Skelton or Kafka will end up being a starting NFL QB.

6. and the coach who picked Tebow is pretty close to Clausen's college coach
Given that McDaniels coached with Weis at New England and apparently considers Weis something of a mentor, the fact that McDaniels passed him over for Tebow seems particularly telling of the outlook on Clausen.

8. Good point. Not to mention KC and Weis passed on him too....but...

I'm pretty sure that Weis knew Clausen would be taken by Fox (those guys know each other too)..and it would give Jimmy a legit chance to start as a QB ....sooner rather than later....the NFL is a maze of relationships..they all know each other and share info on a daily basis.

11. This Says More About Clausen Than Tebow
Clausen was heavily recruited coming out of high school. Often, he was compared to Dan Marino.
