not to get all political on this, but...(sports stars and giving)
check out this list of sports people and their campaign donations.

David Stern, for instance: has given $781,000 in the last 15 years. and only $2000 to republicans.
Even Bud Selig supports 80% dems.

But Clyde Drexler dropped 2 grand on the Bushies? oh the shame.

1. Some is not what it seems...
The ones you have to pay attention to are the ones who are donating in the 6-figure range. The fact that Drexler donated $2,000 to the republicans really doesn't mean a lot to me. Now I saw two things that were funny: 1)Bill Romanowski donated a grand total of $250 to the Republicans, and 2)The fact that Larry Merchant donated money to something other than a liquor store. :)

3. What's $2000 to the GOP?
That isn't a lot, especially when a person needs several million for the presidential race. I just don't see it as a big deal. :shrug:

Steinbrenner was in the shipping business. As with many other businessmen, CREEP extorted businessmen into making illegal campaign contributions.
