Is Reddick vs. Morrison the new Magic and Bird?
These guys are 2 games away from playing each other. They are two of the best players int he game and both headed for the NBA. They are also two of the highest scorers. Are we looking at 10+ good years of rivalry?

1. Nope. Not Even Close
Bird was a great defender, rebounder, passer, and scorer. He was a complete all around great player. Magic was the ultimate team player in sports. He literally gave Byron Scott an NBA career. Magic was so good that other NBA GMs had to think twice about trading for Laker players because they weren't sure if the player was good on his own or that Magic made him better.

Neither Reddick nor Morrison is in either guy's category.

2. they won't both be there, anyway.
and no, Redick is a one trick pony (true, that trick is the best shooting stroke in decades) and Morrison is, I think, a bit overrated.

Redick will be drafted in the late first or early second rounds, and become a role player, if he can, in the NBA. Morrison will be drafted 5-10th, and enjoy a long career as a 6th or 7th man. neither is a starter in the NBA for long.

4. Redick has moved past being a one trick pony
he does some good stuff out there - he can actually create his own shot now, which he couldn't do even last year.

That said, I agree with your NBA outlook on him.

And, if Morrison was on Duke, he would be even more hated than Redick is right now.
I. guarantee. it.

6. I would agree with that
but he needs to lay off the drinking...or so I hear. Nothing bad really I heard this at a party from someone who knows...you get the picture. Hey he is a guy who is a GOD walking the campus right now so he likes to have a drink or two or three. or so I hear.

I didn't think much of this talk but then I heard a lot about how "fatigue" could be setting in and that he "could get tired" and that that was why his shooting dropped off.

putting 2 and 2 together and reading between the lines there.

Both are facing the NBA wall next year (usually hits around the first of the year) so we will see.

I haven't been very impressed with what I have seen of Morrison. He better shut up that barking at teammates right now. I did like what I saw in him that he did want the ball and wanted to get his points-that may sound selfish but it more likely shows that he is a scorer and expects to do so. Gunslinger attitude and all but seriously if the mustache has come in yet it ain't gonna. Get rid of that-whatever that is.

Redick has definitely improved his game from just being a set shotter. No doubt about that.

3. No, both will be decent NBA players but not superstars
And certainly not on the level of Magic and Bird.

5. No average players in a sport seeing diminishing returns on talent.
Morrison might be but he'll probably wind up going all artest after beating his head in night in and night out. He'll eventually snap. Bird was dirty, but not out of control like this guy.
