1. Haven't had a chance yet
Just saw a snippet of the Spain/Ukraine game earlier today. Is it true that Poland got thrashed silly by Germany?

2. Did you see the game this afternoon Germany v. Poland?
Great game and the atmosphere in the stadium in Dortmund was palable even through the TV screen.

I'm looking forward to England v. Trinidad/Tobago tomorrow. It'd be class if the Brits lost, not that I'm expecting them to, but I know Mr. Wonderful(my Irish born husband) would be mighty pleased.

8. that was a HELL of a game today. Both sides never stopped.
I think being a man down (it was a fair call, and a stupid 2nd yellow) finally did in Poland. But how many close calls, posts and cross bars were hit? what a hell of a game.
Not even the most jaded Cheneyistical soccer hater could find that game boring. That was what football is all about.

then, thinking back about the US pathetic performance, I am glad that one of my favorite players (beasley) will be sitting out the next game. He and landon were pathetic.

10. Yeah on Both
I got to monitor both games on the internet, so I'm afraid I cannot comment much on the game itself. But it's all getting recorded and burnt on a DVD for me. So, I'll have to wait for the experience, but have read about the game. I'm psyched, because soccer is one the most exciting sports for me to watch, yet played least of all other US professional sports. "Afterall... we Americans are sooo above the international fray... "

this is absolutely the BEST sport in the world.

Saw Iran play USA in france. I'll see them again this week. Before we bomb the everliving shit out of that country, I want to go and apologize in advance for the rest of us.

18. Three GREAT matches so far. Ger v. Pol; Eng v. Tri; Gha v. Cze
Germany v. Poland was a cliff-hanger with an awesome finish after the 90th minute.
England v. Trinidad was terrific for the first 80 minutes!
Ghana v. Czech Republic was a HUGE upset! Ghana fully and completely deserved the win. They came to play!!

19. Ghana beats the Czechs
so the US is in deep trouble. No way the US is beating Italy. WIthout a piont today the US goes home after an academic match (with Ghana) next week.
If Ghana beats the US, they go through and the US and Czechs head home.

22. Congrats to the US for pulling off a draw
Never thought you were strong enough for Italy. You're still in the hunt but the permutations are all dependent on others.

23. yes, but
All Italy needs is a tie, and all Czech Republic needs is a tie, at which point they can tie each other and move on to the 2nd round.
