1. It's truly brilliant.
The comments are wonderful, too!

Don't want the Heat fans to miss this!

2. It's just somebody's opinion
Sports columnists are the most biased writers in the media. They're even more biased than the WH Press Corps.

3. I used to read it every day when I got back from lunch.
New job, no page 2. ;)

I should read more often. I do like Bill Simmons a lot though. :)

4. I like Simmons usually...
and he makes some fair points here in his great, unmistakable style. However, he's wrong that a Heat win would set the game back from the "new and improved" one we've seen this year. The rules changes have more to do with the changing game now -- don't see those getting reversed anytime soon. If the Heat win, it's because they've finally learned to play as a balanced basketball team with a superstar at the helm. Funny that Simmons knocks and mocks Payton for becoming a better teammate -- pretty telling bias there.

5. Brilliant
Simmons has said so eloquently what I've been thinking for years.

This one is a keeper.

6. So in one thread, you mock those who compare Wade to Jordan
http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=215x38187#38232

But in the next thread, you gleefully post a column where the writer is essentially putting Wade in the same category as Jordan.

This recipe would be boring if it weren't for Wade, a dynamic talent and the most consistent crunch-time scorer since Jordan. But that's the problem: In between Jordan and Wade, we had to watch all the wannabes pretending to be as good as them. And they weren't. Not even close.

Am I the only one who sees the irony in this?

7. Look up the definition of "irony"
:P

*I* don't think he's as good as Jordan. Doesn't mean I don't read anything by anyone who thinks so.

pfft...

I love this for the factual observation that the heat got the benefit of so many bad calls it was absolutely outrageous.

Glad it's not only Mavs fans who are disgusted by it.
