Gilberto!

Damn! I had to run an errand at halftime, ran long, and missed Juninho’s goal.

5. Absolutely. Only 11 fouls and 2 yellows in 64 minutes.
Sideline-to-sideline play - full competition in the midfield - great blocking and tackling - superb footwork on both sides - excellent sense of team dynamics (Japan is really good at this) - wonderful match!!

7. Japan will do nothing but get better, too.
I personally think it's a natural sport for them and, like ski-jumping, I think we'll see some innovations that amplify their strengths in coming years.

12. Yep. It's like they get a bigger thrill from an assist.

They really do look happier when celebrating a team-mate's performance than their own. Ronaldinho shows that a LOT.

I get that feeling in a much smaller way when playing catch with a Frisbee. It's a pastime where the fun is in keeping my throws where my partner can make graceful or athletic catches within their abilities. Maybe it's that which I'm projecting when I watch them pass the ball ... and getting pleasure from hitting their team-mate in-stride.

14. Well, Brazil v. Ghana next Tuesday should be a teriffic match.
Edited on Thu Jun-22-06 03:57 PM by TahitiNut
I think Japan did VERY well for most of the first half.

Argentina v. Mexico on Saturday will be the next SUPER match to watch, though.
