Part of me believes that I should I be quietly optimistic despite the fact that every media analyst and their mother has chosen the Pats -- with every pick of the Pats, I'll just smile and nod my head, confident with the knowledge that my beloved birds have enough fight in them to give any opponent a good run. Another part of my brain is actively trying to convince the rest of me to throw caution to the wind and allow the fervor of my fandom to take over me to the point where I'll spend every day until Super Bowl Sunday roaming the streets as a rabid, ranting, stark raving mad lover of all things Philadelphia.

That's how I feel. Now, unlike the writer, I'm old enough to remember the Flyers' two Stanley Cups, the Phillies' World Series and the Sixers' most recent championship, but it's been way way way too long. Who knows, perhaps the fact NO ONE is picking the Eagles will work in their favor. :)

as is coach Reid. Classy is in the eye of the beholder. Sure, TO is arrogant. But by the same token, you are dealing with a team that had a huge monkey on its back, 0-3 when it really mattered. TO came in and flapped his nuts around, and gave them some swagger. That prevailed even with him hurt.

George Patton was an insane asshole, but he knew how to push an army forward. Sometimes classy isn't on the menu.

Yeah, he's loud, and more than a little arrogant, but there's nothing wrong with that. More mild-mannered players have done far worse than TO, who, to the best of my knowledge has done nothing negative off the field that would draw attention his way.

Fraud is the best word to describe them, you're going back to 8-8 next year. If T.O. was on your team you'd be sucking his balls, spare me the outrage.

They're only on the field during TV timeouts, what's wrong with a little eye candy during the downtime? The Eagle cheerleaders are smokin.

I know the Dallas Cowboy cheerleaders and the Redskinettes have their calendars, too (don't think they're lingerie, though). How about the rest of the NFL cheerleaders?

the only teams that dont have cheerleaders are:

The Cleveland Browns
The Green Bay Packers
The New York (New Jersey) Jets
The Pittsburgh Steelers
The Chicago Bears
The New York (New Jersey) Giants
The Detroit Lions

And I could be wrong about a few of them.

Why do you ask?

Not trying to start an argument or anything, I just don't understand how a cheerleading squad has any bearing whatsoever on whether or not a team is interesting, fun to watch or a good opponent. Quite literally the last thing that enters my mind when deciding which football games to watch on any given Sunday is whether or not they have cheerleaders...

You never have to sit through any annoying cheerleader crap during their games. It's all about the football and nothing else.

New Jersey sucks. As far as sitting through annoying cheerleader crap...Who watches the cheerleaders anyways? the only time they ever show cheerleaders on TV is between plays and when you are at the games if you are watching the cheerleaders from your nosebleed seats you've got a screw loose. If you are close enough to tell the difference between one cheerleader and another and you are watching them rather than the game well...you paid way too much money to watch half naked women. Go to a strip club and spend half as much!

And any team that can't commit to a single state, let alone city, but but an entire region of the country............will probably win its third superbowl in 4 years

They came out holding placards to spell out "G-I-A-N-T-S" but instead lined up and spelled it "G-A-I-N-T-S". Everyone laughed like hell and the Maras ended it right there.

Maras did two things right
