Here is what happens when the 119th "undefeated" schedule meets talent
Georgia gives Hawaii a dose of reality
Georgia would love to be back at the Superdome next week, playing for the title it really wanted. Instead, the Bulldogs will have to settle for being Sugar Bowl champs. Overpowering the country's last unbeaten team, black-clad Georgia took out its frustration at getting passed over for a shot at the BCS championship with a 41-10 rout of Colt Brennan and the Warriors on Tuesday night. Next Monday, on the very same Superdome field, Ohio State will meet LSU in the national title game.

1. Total domination from start to finish.
Hawai'i shouldn't have even been in the top 25. Mizzou vs. Georgia would have been an outstanding matchup.

2. UGA is always among the most talented teams in the country
and as every analyst pointed out all that talent was coming together at the end of the year-UGA could play with anyone in the country right now. USC is another team that is too deep in talent to not be a juggernaut at this point especially against teams having historic years. Lots of blow outs yesterday.

3. Agreed
Missouri should have been in a BCS game .... Not Illinois.

USC v Georgia or Missouri would have been better game.

5. Tressel still hasn't been to the Rose Bowl
THAT is why Illinois went because OSU is in the national game.

I was rooting for them but USC in Pasadena???? I knew this would not end well.

4. Let this game be a lesson to all the "paper tigers" out there
Hawaii was due for an ass-beating, and they never deserved to be in a BCS game. Boise State was pretty much the only decent team they beat all year. Let's see them go to the PAC-10 and go undefeated.

6. this is exactly what we'd get in a playoff
Put all eleven conference champions and five at-large teams in a bracket, and let each team play until it loses. This year, that would have come quickly for Hawaii. But a playoff would permanently get all these debates off the call-in shows and put them on the field.

7. Is it really necessary to pick on us?
Arkansas was also blown out by 31, by the team ranked just below Georgia. Its SOS was 63, near the middle of the pack.

Illinois was blown out by 32, by the team ranked two slots below Georgia. Its SOS was 10.

And South Florida, with an SOS of 16? It was blown out by 35 -- by unranked Oregon!

(SOS based on CBS SportsLine figures)

So why single us out?

8. Don't take it personally, KamaAina...
After Boise St.'s surprise victory last year, I think the expectations were higher for Hawai'i. Given last night's performance by the Sooners, it could be that Boise's victory was due more to the opponent they played than anything else.
