1. Jacksonville.
Definitely gonna be rocking the Steelers jersey Saturday night...with my Pats jersey just beneath it, as usual.

(yes, Pittsburgh is my second team)

(and I want no part of Jacksonville next week)

(so it all works out)

:)

4. I think you're rooting for the wrong team
Don't overreact to recency. Jacksonville is a cute flavor of the moment. A few weeks ago the Vikings were the flavor of the moment. Now, the Jaguars are certainly superior to the Vikings but NE would have little trouble dismissing them, particularly at home after a bye week.

Besides, Jacksonville is a reject on the YPPA Differential system. Pittsburgh figures to oust them. I might as well mention that annual angle once again, after the college higher rated underdog system went 7-1.

Teams with YPPA Differential net advantage of at least a half yard over their opponent are normally ATS gold in the NFL playoffs.

This week's numbers:

* Jacksonville +.7
* Pittsburgh +1.5

* Tennessee +.2
* San Diego +.8

* New York Giants (best of luck with this number) -.6
* Tampa Bay +1.4

* Washington +.9
* Seattle +.5

16. Do you go anywhere for the game?
Roggies in Cleveland Circle has a massive Steeler turnout. Massive.

22. I have a bet going with a Jags fan that if they beat the Steelers
then advance and beat us that I have to buy a Maurice Jones-Drew jersey. If the Pats win a hypothetical matchup she has to get a Brady jersey.

It's just as well...should the Pats lose I'll be on the Jags bandwagon.

2. I voted for Washington because I don't like that team
dating back to some unpleasantness when they made the 49ers' lives hell in the 80's around playoff time.

All those Skins fans jumping around with pig noses on. What a nightmare.

I'd also like to see Pittsburgh lose because I don't want them to get a 6th Lombardi trophy (even though I don't believe they'd make it past Indianapolis or New England anyway).

I'd also like to see the Giants lose, but I don't like Tampa either. Ugh.

5. Oh, c'mon.
You guys won 4 titles in that decade, all the Skins did was win one measly NFC title game against the Niners. In fact, the Niners/Skins game that sticks out in my mind was the divisional playoff back in '90. We got JOBBED in that one (of course they would've lost to the Giants the next week anyway).

You just might make me want to root for the Pats (Ugh) to get to the SB because the chances of the Boyz beating them...slim to none....:P

previous trips.

15. That must be just devastating losing Super Bowl after
Super Bowl.

I'd rather keep winning every single one of them

20. I say it's always better to get there and lose than to
not get there at all. So with regards to Super Bowls I'll actually take 5-4 over 5-0. Of course if my team was 5-0 I would be arguing the opposite point (hey, at least I'm honest).

:)

I hate the Giants more though, so I voted for them. Plus I'd like to see Garcia do well with the Bucs.

17. Double Amen...I think it was NBC that was promoting them as
"America's team" after their game against the Pats. Pretty nauseating. They peaked that night, not good enough to go far.

19. I hate when teams start referring to themselves "America's Team."
Or when other people refer to them as such. Cowboys, Giants, Saints- fuck them all.

23. 2 out of 3 for YPPA Differential System
Steelers lost but covered and San Diego rallied for the ATS win. Tampa Bay was surprisingly whacked.

Next week the home favorites look good. Should be a comfy weekend as every home side fits the criteria of at least a half yard net advantage over the roadie. The last two seasons you had very legit teams with superb YPPA Differential exit the first round and win the Super Bowl, but there's nothing similar this year. The top seeds are very legit and the lurkers are phony.

* Seattle +.5
* Green Bay +1.4

* NY Giants -.6
* Dallas +2.5

* Jacksonville +.7
* New England +2.5

* San Diego +.8
* Indianapolis +2.0
