The video replay judge is legally blind
That was SO a good goal. There was clearly a sliver of white between the goal line and the puck that was on edge. I don't know how much money was paid by Boston for this unjust call but it is shameful.

1. This reminds me of the NBA
Looked like a goal for sure. A 3-0 game doesn't bring in ratings..I bet if that had been a Bruin shot, they would have called it good so we could have 2-1 game.

2. I wouldn't doubt it.
Brought to us by the same idiots who think the whole country wants to see 50 Yankees/Red Sox games on ESPN every year.

3. Toronto didn't want to overrule O'Halloran if they could get by with
not doing it. But yes, it was a goal. All I was thinking was I was going to be mad if the Canes lost by a goal because of it. Luckily, it didn't have to go there.

4. You can see a freeze frame of the puck here

7. I was actually glad the game ended the way it did, because the Canes got screwed on that call.
It was clearly a goal from the overhead view.

8. I appreciate your sentiments.
I don't think Toronto meant to screw us by not overturning it but it would have been dicey had the game turned on it.

9. I want the Bruins to win cleanly.
That could have turned the entire series around had the Bruins come back to win it, and everyone would have been talking about this for the rest of the playoffs. The replay officials blew it, but the Canes won anyways, nipping any future controversy in the bud.

I will say, in all the years of watching hockey since they've used replays, that one was one of the hardest ones to decide, but the one frame (as posted above) clearly shows the whole puck over the line. I'd love to hear what the replay officials were thinking there.

10. I guess they wanted to back up O'Halloran though he probably
waved it off just to send it to them. I, just like you, don't want my team to win on anything controversial.

11. I thought it was a goal but it really wasn't very conclusive
yeah, there looks to be a sliver of white but it's hard to say where the goal line definitivly ends. It's a little hazy on the edges.

I think there was room for reasonable doubt.

12. I actually thought it was in before it hit the ice and rolled along
the line. I thought it hit the cross bar and then net before dropping. But there was enough difficulty in ascertaining the true answer and so not to be compelling enough to overturn the on ice ruling as far as they were concerned.
