Al Madrigal making San Francisco gay pedophile joke?

Maybe I'm being hypersensitive. You be the judge. For those who, like me, had never heard of Al Madrigal before 2 minutes ago, he's a stand up on Comedy Central.

Abbreviated version from memory, relevant portion is direct quote:

So I'm half Mexican and my dad, who's all Mexican, decides to send me to French School. At French School, you get to wear this uniform, a 1920's French Sailor suit. So here I am on the streetcar, little brown boy in a French Sailor suit going off to school. "Anywhere else people would see this and be "Aww, isn't that cute?". You know what it is in San Francisco? Sexy."

2. Depends on the person's intent. Always does.

For instance if Ann Coulter gave the joke, I would be disgusted. But if Ellen Degeneres gave it, I would find it funny. As with all things, context is more important than the words individually. IMHO, of course.

You were not misreading the implications of that freaking joke.

I do not watch Homophobic central stand up comedy on Fri. night for that reason, it is often way over the top and just reinforces negative stereotypes.

I'm glad someone noticed. Perhaps it bears closer scrutiny. Maybe one of the gay bloggers will write about this phenom??

I turned it on last night, in passing, only to hear Andrea Yates jokes. Nothing is funnier than post partum depression and a mentally ill woman drowning her 5 kids. :grr:
