Antigay Preacher in Need of a Publicist

Antigay preacher Bradlee Dean is appealing to his supporters in hopes of raising the money to hire a publicist after his controversial sermon upset several Minnesota lawmakers.

The Minnesota Independentreports that Dean, who delivered a controversial morning prayer on the Minnesota house floor last week, wrote to supporters after going "non-stop" for several days in defending his actions to the media. He opened the day with a prayer as the Minnesota house of representatives considered whether there should be a ballot initiative to ban marriage equality in 2012.

Dean, a minister at the Old Path Church in Minneapolis and founder of the You Can Run But You Cannot Hide International youth ministry, made remarks as the guest chaplain during a house session Friday that upset lawmakers on both sides of the aisle. Though he did not mention homosexuality, the antigay preacher made a dig at President Barack Obama and questioned his faith. In the past, he has also said that gay people should be imprisoned, and that Obama and Osama bin Laden are cohorts.

" liberal-biased media has taken this a step further and initiated a full-scale character assassination, attempting to inflict serious damage to the ministry and my reputation," he wrote to supporters, according to the Independent. "While we are putting up a good defense with the resources we have readily available, we are in serious need of a publicist on a short-term basis."
