ABA launches Opening Doors Project on behalf of LGBT youth
http://lgbtweekly.com/2011/05/31/aba-launches-opening-doors-project-on-behalf-of-lgbt-youth/

Mimi Laver, the Director of Legal Education at the ABA Center on Children and Law, has initiated the creation of an LGBT bullying and discrimination awareness campaign to educate legal professionals about the increasingly pertinent plight of underserved LGBT youth in America.

Laver’s campaign, known as The Opening Doors Project, is the first national program of its kind designed to train the legal community how to successfully represent and advocate for LGBTQ youth.

The campaign has already created a significant web presence with a national PSA and social media initiative called “The Kids are Listening.” The initiative includes an anti-bullying video and campaign website, and constitutes a call to action for all legal professionals, educators and other members of the greater community at large on behalf of gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender and queer youth suffering from discriminatory behavior, bullying, sexual abuse, homelessness and heightened suicide risk.

So far, “The Kids are Listening” video has gotten 30,000 views. See the video for yourself and learn what The Opening Doors Project is all about:
