Gay Activists Using Bad Science
Gay activists are being accused of infiltrating influential professional groups and in the process, using bad science to turn them into political propaganda machines.

Once a highly respected organization, the American Psychological Association now appears to be a front for the gay movement. Former President of the APA, Dr. Nicholas Cummings, takes exception with the group’s stance on some very political issues.

“Any scientific professional organization should not speak as a scientific professional organization unless it has psychological evidence.”

It appears the APA doesn’t subscribe to that belief any longer. Dr. Jeffrey Satinover studied APA briefs submitted to the US Supreme Court and says what was offered as legitimate scientific references turned out to be a lot of smoke and mirrors.

Bad science? As in "gay's can change," "it's a choice," "gays prey on young kids and convert them," or any of the other utter bullshit shoveled by the religious reich?

Or are they referring to the fundie definition of "bad science" ("Any science is bad science if it contradicts God's word as handed down in the Bible and/or interpreted by my preacher")?

1. Genetics
Ok, I will give you my own family. My Aunt was gay. My husband had a gay Uncle. My sister-in-law has 4 kids, two of whom are gay. My husband and I have 2 kids, one of whom is gay. By the way, none of our kids were "recruited" by their Aunt or Uncle. They moved away or died before any of them were born.

Do the HS genetics test. You know, the one which states if one parent has blue eyes and one parent has brown eyes, what will their offspring be?

Ah, but I forgot. Science no only longer applies. The only science book we now need is the BIBLE.

2. LOL
Typical. If you don't agree you just decide they are wrong. They can prove things? Well we don't need proof. These people would crack me up if they were not so damned stupid and right now so powerful.

Is there some thing I don't know about in the fundies churches? Do they whack them over the head with those big old bibles? Something seems to have knocked any good sense they might have had once way outta their heads.

3. NO! No! Mistaken Identity. Opus Dei is infiltrating everything!
Look at the supreme court. Remember that spy, Robert Hansen? Yep Opus Dei. That's their goal to infiltrate all parts of government.

4. Hah
"For example, in the Romer brief, a full third of the citations came from this one person, Gregory Harek..."

And in every anti-gay website I've ever visited, all of the "scientific data" has come from Paul Cameron, who was discredited and stripped of his APA and ASA accreditation years ago. Try again people.

5. watch this front open and widen in the years to come.
this is how they expect to dominate the conversation re: gay folk and the minds of the public.

i am reminded of catholic charities {temporarily] droping out of the adoption business -- and i fully expect them to join this line of attack at some point in the not so distant future.

conservative christians of any stripe are not interested in diversity of opinion -- except that theirs comes out on top and the rest of us must play whatever game by their rules.
