Hundreds gather in downtown rally
Hundreds of people assembled downtown on Saturday to support Wolf Laurel Ski Resort and other Christian and conservative businesses and their right to operate "according to family values."

The management of Wolf Laurel decided to end an oral agreement employing the photography business of Laurel Scherer and Virginia Balfour, a lesbian couple that got married in Massachusetts in October and ran a wedding announcement in the Citizen-Times on Nov. 6.

“They are trying to make a statement so we as Christians are trying to make a statement,” said Wendell Runion, president of International Baptist Outreach Missions Inc. and organizer of the event.

There was also a crowd assembled on the west end of the square holding signs in support of gays and lesbians.

2. That's blatant discrimination
I can't believe "honest to goodness, God fearing Christians" would support such an immoral action. There would be an outcry if the same thing happened to a black couple. This is more than a "statement" its an action and one that shouldn't be allowed to happen.

3. few things could make a better statement about
the virulence of conservative christians than this.

conservative christians DO NOT mean to live in peace with their neighbors -- they DO NOT believe in the inherent equality of people -- and they mean to push the issue just as far as they can.

4. well fuck 'em
what's the difference between a homosexual, a heterosexual and an asexual?

No punch line. Just trying to understand why people think that what happens or does not happen between people in the privacy of their home has any bearing on anything at all.

Do they think asexual people are immoral? Why not? What's the difference that they can prove?
