SF Catholic Church Moves Closer To Gay Adoption Ban
http://www.365gay.com/Newscon06/03/032106sfCatholic.htm

San Francisco's Archbishop George Niederauer has told Catholic Charities to follow the Vatican direction on gay adoption.

"Our teaching on marriage and family life precludes these kinds of adoptions," said Maurice Healy, a spokesperson for the Archbishop.

Last week the Archdiocese of Boston announced it would close its adoption service rather than comply with Massachusetts' equality laws that bar discrimination against gays and lesbians.

Niederauer's directive is his first statement on gay adoption since the Boston announcement and a statement by his predecessor William Levada, now the head of the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith that the Church opposes giving children to gays and lesbians.

1. What is it about Gay Adoptiion...
which conflicts with the Church's teaching? Homosexual activity?

Many practicing Catholics engage in activity which conflicts with Church teaching: they each meat during Lent (even on Fridays), use birth control, support capital punishment. What is there that so goes to the core of the Church's mission that leaving children as orphans is more important?

Is there evidence for example that children raised by Gay parents become gay? (While, for me, this would make no difference, I can see how militantly anti-gayniks might be alarmed) I think there is no such evidence. Does anyone know what drives this issue?

2. Then they also need to ban adoption for fornicators of all kinds
No one but first-time, married-as-virgins, never-divorced, never-touched-themselves heterosexuals should be allowed to adopt children under this rule, and as soon as they commit any kind of sexual indiscretion, such as watching porn, purchasing a dildo, or having phone sex, they should immediately lose custody of their children.

In fact, this rule should apply to birth parents as well. No sinners should be allowed to have children. Oh, look! Overpopulation problem: poof!

:sarcasm:

3. And if Catholic Charities refuses to follow the law...
They should receive absolutely no public money whatsoever.

I am getting MIGHTY sick and tired of bigots who use religion as an excuse to both hate and fleece the public in violation of very clear laws.

4. Unconscionable! Such utter hypocrisy! It confirms my long-standing

suspicion that the Catholic hierarchy has no real interest in preserving the lives of children. Their interest is in CONTROLLING SEXUALITY, the life force itself--the Goddess of the Living World--and forcing love and passion and lust into confined and controlled channels that produce money and property for the male powermongers of the Church. How else to explain denying parents and the advantages of family life to parentless children? They are no better than the giant gas companies and automobile manufacturers who sold SUVs on "family values." Filthy old "patriarchs" who know full well how they turned Christ's message of love and generosity into a profit-making institution in the 5th century. Well, they, like the fascists behind Bush, are getting exposed for what they are, and their collusion is getting exposed as well...

Two Bushite corporations 'counted' 80% of our nation's votes in the 2004 election, using 'TRADE SECRET," PROPRIETARY programming code, with virtually no audit-recount controls*: Diebold, headed by CEO Wally O'Dell, a Bush/Cheney campaign chair and major Bush fundraiser, who promised in writing to "deliver" Ohio's electoral votes to Bush/Cheney in 2004. And ES&S, a spinoff of Diebold (similar computer archetecture), initially funded by rightwing billionaire Howard Ahmanson, who also gave one million dollars to the extremist 'christian' group, the Chalcedon Foundation, which, among other things, touts the death penalty for homosexuals.

This latter fact--about ES&S--is less well known, along with where the word "Chalcedon" comes from: A Church council held in 451 AD, at which a narrow faction of the worst kind of 'christians'--the powermongers, the "patriarchs," the baptism-by-the-sword bishops--cemented the union of 'christianity' with the power of the state, and thus began the suppression of all dissent, the purgation of OTHER forms of Christianity that were much more reflective of Jesus' message of love, the burning of the OTHER, free-thinking gospels, the smashing of the Goddess religion, the anathematization of Pagans and Jews, the pogroms, the inquisitions, the witchburnings, the religious wars, the destruction of all ancient learning--in medicine, astronomy, engineering, mathematics, architecture, philosophy, religion and the arts (70,000 manuscripts destroyed at Alexandria, along with its last philosopher and scientist, Hypatia), and the beginning of one thousand years of darkness, ignorance and oppression by the sex-obsessed devotees of St. Peter.

That's who 'counted' your votes behind a veil of secrecy, my friends. The successors of Chalcedon. And the 'Archbishop' of Boston is carrying out their agenda of trapping sexuality and "family values" into a channel that produces profit for the few, oppresses the human mind, oppresses the poor, and prefers to see parentless children begging, starving and dying on the streets, in order to enforce that ancient fascist covenant between the bloody-minded patriarchs of the church and the bloody-minded militarists of the Holy Roman Empire.

The solution: Throw Diebold and ES&S election theft machines into 'Boston Harbor' NOW! American Revolution II--to once again defeat the forces of fascism, this time peacefully and forever--by re-establishing LIBERAL, PROGRESSIVE democracy in the United States of America.

If they can do it in Latin America (in Chile, Brazil, Argentina, Uruguay, Venezuela and Bolivia--and soon in Peru and Mexico), we can do it here, too, in the birthplace of modern democracy.

---------------------------------

*(--"trade secret," proprietary programming code, with no audit/recount controls, no paper trail requirement, no controls on partisan vendors, no cost controls, no controls on lavish lobbying and "revolving door" employment, no controls on convicted felons writing the code, no controls on secret industry 'testing' of the machines, and underfunded regulators in a Bush-appointed commission, was brought to you by the two biggest crooks in Congress, Tom Delay and Bob Ney, with the $4 billion "Help America Vote Act" boondoggle, which corrupted and destroyed the US election system during the 2001-2004 period--with barely a word of objection from Democratic election officials and legislators.)
