Did Homophobic Politicians Pretend to be Gay Terrorists?
WARSAW, March 29, 2006 – Shortly before last year’s presidential elections in Poland, a series of false bomb alarms paralysed the capital city of Warsaw, the blame being subsequently put on “gay terrorists”.

Now, most of the Polish opposition parties want the incident to be fully explained.

Wojciech Wierzejski, an MP from LPR (a conservative Catholic party) has suggested on a Polish radio station that is very likely that the fake bombs were planted, with cooperation of special forces, by supporters of the Law and Justice PiS, the party that won the parliamentary and presidential elections, and not by gay organisations as it was suggested following the receipt of an email claiming responsibility.

<snip>

Three days before presidential elections in Poland, several bombs were planted in Warsaw. The bombs turned out to be dummies, but the bomb alert successfully paralysed the capital city during the afternoon rush for hours.

1. Canadian fundie groups did something similar a couple years ago
They were having an anti-gay meeting when a group called "The Pink Mafia" or something allegedly broke into their conference room carrying signs and chanting.

The fundies had a guy with a video camera, and instead of using it to get pictures of the faces of the so-called "terrorists," he panned around the room taking pictures of the fundies all squinty-faced and praying really hard.

That was the give-away that it was staged.

Some people say.

3. somebody phone them please
Plausibility is 100% of a memorable work of fiction.

if we were going to play terrorist we wouldn't use fake bombs. We wouldn't use real bombs either.

In fact we wouldn't play terrorist since the only outcome of terrorism is terror. It's not plausible.

We're all into enlightened progress, not violent tactics used by the people who would rather see us burned alive in a nightclub or beaten to a pulp and left to die on a fence.

This is just more of the right wing diagnosing themselves by their actions.

7. pssst
don't give away the plan just yet -

But you're right that just having them know that we're nobody's willing victim is enough to make them think twice, and we're NOT bluffing.

4. The silver lining is that this has the opposite effect than intended.
Scaring people like this turns them off, and gives gays an opportunity to make their case to people who otherwise wouldn't be inclined to listen.
