This gay child of the 60s just had to share this.
It probably belongs in the GLBT Lounge when we get one but this video of Cass Elliot and Julie Andrews doing a Simon and Garfunkel medley was too rich to keep to myself.

I have always been a fan of Julie Andrews, but I never have heard too much of Mama Cass. What an amazing voice!!! Why do all of the great ones have to go well before their time? But the two of them sounded great and their voices complemented each other beautifully.

God...those variety shows were the bomb back then, weren't they? It's so fun to see what a trained voice Julie Andrews had, even as a young woman, but Cass...gosh. . .I used to love her songs. I think an early gay anthem back in the early 1970's was "Make Your Own Kind Of Music" .. . .I used to kinda sing that one walking to high school all of the time...every time I heard it on my transister radio.

I wish we hadn't lost her so early. . .

She was one of a kind. Toss in Julie Andrews and any self respecting gay-boy from the 1960's is almost REQUIRED to melt!
