Just pointed out on Rachel Maddow....
Bush is speaking, or has already spoken today, about the "Defense of Marriage" and how an entire class of citizens should have their rights stripped from them and hatred and discrimination against them should be legalized in the US Constitution.

The kicker is today is the 25th anniversary of the first 'official' report about the AIDS epidemic (circa 1981).

Can the Bush 'administration' say "Fuck you, every gay person in the USA", any more clearly?

1. So I guess Mary Cheney isn't going to give a rebuttal, huh?
I guess she really is Daddy's girl and waiting on her trust fund.

5. I Don't Think The Government...
I don't think the Government should ever even so much as speak the words "Gay" or "Homosexual"; and of course, that means not even considering it. Infinitely worse, they should not be making laws about such things. Then the worst of the worst, working to make an actual Amendment to our Most Sacred Document, The Constitution about such things--is DEFILING it!

If they can legislate anything to do with adult sexual practices, they can legislate about anything at all. They could demand, like the Roman Empire, that EVERYONE become Christian...

This is absolutely wrong. It's entirely irrelevant whether one approves or disproves of homosexuality... "it's the principle of the thing"--and it really is. If we don't stop these people (and using the word people is suspect) now, there's no telling how far and what other things they're going to make laws ("Royal Decrees") about. I know that writing this won't change the least of things; America is too deeply in it's coma or simply too exhausted to rally forth and demand this government start obeying the will of the people.

It's obvious, isn't it, that our government is no longer a Democratic Constitutional Republic? It doesn't matter what the people think and least of all what's best for the people... this is an Autocracy. Though there is the pretense... the going through the motions... the paying of lip service... to Democracy--in order to hide the truth and possibly ease the transition...

Transition to what? We should be outraged and deeply concerned with a real element of scared. We'll see by the end of the year if the election system doesn't also hide the truth, whether or not Democracy still has any power.

6. June 5, a day that will live in infamy
remember that R Reagan ignored AIDS until thousands were dead - including friends of mine. Remember that G W has chosen this day to ask that we be written out of the Constitution. never forget - never forget that these are the men the Log Cabin Republicans support. Ask yourself why? I can't answer that question. Can anyone help me out?
