Hundreds of thousands turn out for Toronto's Pride Parade

Yay Toronto!

http://www.cbc.ca/story/canada/national/2006/06/25/gay-sun.html

Hundreds of thousands of people turned out Sunday for the largest, noisiest, most flamboyant and probably happiest Pride Parade in the country.

Music blared, whistles blew and water-guns squirted as thousands of revellers, young and old, gay and straight, paraded along Toronto's Yonge Street in the midday heat to the cheers of residents and tourists from across Canada and the United States.

It's an annual event in Toronto now, and it's getting bigger every year.

just thought you'd like to know :)

1. Toronto, like any city, has its conflicts, but....
human relations - racial/ethnic, sexual orientation and so on - are probably as good there as any city I've ever been to. No place seems to revel in its diversity (the UN calls it the most multicultural city on the planet) quite like T.O. does.

2. I love T.O.
Great shopping, great people. A very clean city. And you're so right about human relations and diversity.

6. This is the first time in several years I wasn't at Toronto's Pride
I couldn't get the time off to go. :-(

Toronto has a great Pride Parade. I've heard it's the largest in North America. :-)

8. My wife and I
were lucky enough to go one year. The best pride event I have ever been to, by far. T.O. rocks!
